I'd never done life drawing before and I'd be lying if the act of studying and analyzing a naked individual's form, even if it improves my drawing skills and understanding of proportion, didn't make me feel slightly nervous. Nonetheless, the reason why we're doing this is to better our understanding of the human anatomy and techniques used to capture a human's scale with hopes that, given the time and practice, it will improve the artwork we produce.
Before we started drawing for ourselves, David took us through the fundamentals of quickly and efficiently blocking out the pose whilst considering the perspective based on the angle.
Gordy was difficult to draw they had a very unique set of features which left me confused as to what I should prioritize.
My intent was to get the outline first, then flesh out once I was happy with the main shapes however I constantly found something worthy of critique upon finishing what should've been the first step (which, in some cases ended up being the only step). This resulted in a lot of distraction which I believe shows in some of my earlier attempts.

Our third and fourth attempts were far more abstract as we were instructed to study Gordy's form briefly before drawing what we'd seen from memory. The second was a much more confident attempt than the first (first on the left, second on the right) as I press harder on the paper to get better linework.

I like how my last three poses came out, not so much by the detail put into them but how, by being alongside one another, looks like the different steps in a motion (in this instance, a dance). I certainly cared more about getting the size of appendages and proportions right which I believe worked well in some area whilst another left much more to be desired.
